人生沒有用不到的經歷

我學英文時，曾經查過「下班」怎麼說？
to get off duty;  to come off work;  to go off duty 等等
到美國才發現，下班回家時，跟同事打聲招呼，不會用 “duty” 這字。
「我要走了」，很簡單， I am leaving.
「我要回家了」，I am going home.
“duty” 這字較常用於描述一件事。
I was off duty at eight and went for a drink.
我八點下班後去(酒吧)喝了一杯。

我還發現Ving 用到的機會很大！一個人每天都會想去做一些事，
「想要」，I want to;  I intend to;  I attempt to，字典這樣寫。
比方說，「我想回家了」，你若說成 I want to go home. 沒說錯，
你講出來，別人一定能懂，但美國人不常這樣說。
I am going home. 用 Ving 說起來就輕鬆多了。

同樣的，「想要去」做某件事， “I am thinking to V-----------”，這是最常聽到的說法。

Jack is leaving soon. I am thinking to buy a gift to him. Do you have any idea?
 (Jack 就要走了，我想買個禮物送他，你看怎樣？)

My project is dead. I am thinking to make a change. Help me !
(我的計劃做死了，想換個題目，幫幫我吧！)

My project is going very well. I am thinking to publish it in a top-notched journal.
 (我的計劃進行的非常順利，想把它發表在頂尖的期刊。)

I am tired of my work. I am thinking to plan a trip to Yosemite.
(我做得好疲倦，想計劃一趟旅行去 “優勝美地”。)

I am thinking to V 真的很好用，可讓你說起英文不那麼生硬。
